A Fuck Yeah! blog dedicated to U2's AMAZING lead singer Paul David "Bono" Hewson, owned and operated by Blair.
I will be posting or reblogging photos, quotes, videos, links - whatever Bono-related stuff I can find <3

Feel free to ask anything you can think of. If I don't already know the answer I will try my best to find out :)

Personal Tumblr & FS upon request :)

Why does this place, so very far from where we live in Dublin, Ireland, why do we feel so much at home? Thank you, and let me introduce my team mates, for it is a team indeed.
On the drums, the youngest member of U2, with the feet of a ballet dancer and a truly great dribbler. Our very own La Pulga, Larry Mullen Jr. on the drums! To my left, the man who likes to score three at a time, the handsome, the suave, the El Pipita of U2, on the bass, Adam Clayton! To my right, the man who doesn’t have a name, he’s like God, he’s omnipresent, he’s everywhere at the same time, always in the right place, the Pupi Zanetti of the band. The Edge! I’m not sure I could fill this man’s shoes, but if I could fill his shoes, I would be him. Carlitos Apache Bono!

Smack in the centre of contradiction is the place to be.

So, tonight is Saturday night. The balada night! Balada? In São Paulo, they eat pizza and go out, and well, I like pizza. I know that’s hard to believe. I would say I’m the pepperoni of pizzas. Adam is more exotic, I was thinking, perhaps, pineapple, but actually, it’s a local dish: the banana pizza. On bass guitar, Adam Clayton! Edge, hmm, you’re always trying to find the right ingredients and Edge will always order the most obscure thing on the menu, so I was trying to think of an obscure pizza: pizza de jaca…or pizza de minhoca, it’s a worm right? Ok, pizza de jaca…how would you describe it, it’s a weird kind of fruit? Ok, and then Larry. Larry: no cheese, no tomatoes, no pastry, no pizza. We call him the good looking pizza: on the drums, Larry Mullen Jr.! Ok, this is our balada. Edge, give it up!

I was enjoying my new baby and writing ‘Achtung Baby’. We had never allowed the band to use the word ‘baby’ in a lyric. It did not exist in the U2 vocabulary. it is on ‘Achtung Baby’ twenty-seven times, which is one of the reasons for the title. No one has ever made the connection although it is obvious from my point of view: enter the child! Life had changed utterly; Ali was pregnant again and our second daughter was born during the making of ‘Achtung Baby’, in July 1991.
